I did not read Cam & Luke’s story as first in the series. I fell into the Cherry Creek series right before Levi & James’ book was released and decided to read that one first. While I won’t say I wasn’t able to enjoy the book or even gather the clues necessary to fill in the blanks, I felt something was missing. I loved, loved, loved Heartless and was eager to gather all those little details that reading a series from the beginning gives you. I am sure glad I did. The dynamic between Cam and Luke is one of my favorites of this particular authors. I like Cam’s snark and I love how Luke responds to him. I love the overwhelming sense of rightness when they are together and the heartbreak when they are apart. Luke is Cam’s sense of peace and it is very easy to feel that while reading the author’s words. Reckless is an age gap, best friend’s dad romance with a side of kink and a whole lot of laughter and love. Do not hesitate to take a chance on this series, this author, and this book.
