I love the songs, music and the bands. Some really interesting insights here into Crosby's contribution to rock - as a singer, artist and composer, especially his really groundbreaking approach to harmony singing. But really, like in real life, narratives about privileged, wealthy, gifted peoples' addictions can get pretty repetitive and boring. As much as this reader as a fan and the authors want this to be a story about redemption, survival and vindication - it remains a pretty turgid portrayal of a narcissist who left a lot of debris, and bodies by the side of the road. No glamour here and, quite simply, an unpleasant character who strives to make directness about his awfulness to others a virtue. Too late, buddy, great that you survived, but got better things and people that warrant care, concern and attention.
